Where is the front door to the hospital? This work is part of a wider Auckland DHB project investigating public spaces at the Grafton campus and proposes a series of future thinking concepts for the front door location. A calm, pedestrian focussed precinct would replace the current vehicle dominated entrance from park road.

The work also looked at ways of creating a heart for the hospital campus. The highest scale concept proposes that people enter through the bottom floor of the current over-bridge, thereby connecting pedestrians to the centre of the campus.

Organising the campus in this way would have huge implications for current car dependancy and future traffic flows on site. The following diagram articulates one strategy for managing vehicular activities.
