PUNCTUATED BY FRAMES THAT DIVIDE THE SPACE INTO WORKABLE ZONES, THE DHW LAB WAS PURPOSEFULLY BUILT TO ADAPT TO THE CHANGING NEEDS OF ITS USERS.

The studio is an extension of the DHW Lab’s ethos, which is about presenting a future-oriented vision of patient-centred healthcare while challenging established ways of thinking about and addressing design problems in the hospital.

The space communicates these ideas by exhibiting a wide range of artefacts, which help generate conversation about the value of design and its role in improving the hospital experience. Special effort is made to ensure projects are visible in the space in varying states of completion. The lab fit-out won silver at the 2015 Best Awards in the Office and Workplace Environments category.
