Outpatient Wayfinding

The goal of this project was to create an engaging wayfinding solution for the Starship Children’s Hospital Outpatients department refurbishment—aligning to spatial design inputs, such as the new Starship colour palette, and the principles of the Auckland DHB Wayfinding Strategy under development.

A series of stakeholder workshops were run through the course of the project to help us understand the key journeys through the clinic, as well as prototype an appropriate visual language. Through surveys with families and testing low fidelity mock ups, the Lab has developed a wayfinding system for Outpatients which is currently in the implementation phase.
